Life, Death and Lunch: Spring Break, Part 1 (Louisiana)

We headed out Saturday morning. Not quite as early as we hoped, but not too bad. There had been some concern about the weather, but it turned out we missed most of it, and had just a little rain. We reached Lafayette in the afternoon, and settled in. As usual, the kids were soon playing with their Uncle Scott:

Sunday morning we went to Sacrament Meeting in Lafayette, before heading back to get ready to leave for Slidell. While we were doing this, Jessie was playing with Uncle Scott some more, and got dropped. She hit her mouth on the floor and chipped one of her front teeth. We were able to get hold of the nurse from the dentist's office, and she said to not worry and just make an appointment when we got back to town. So we were soon headed for Slidell. Again, the weather held up for us. We got in pretty late, because we had started a lot later than planned, but other than that it was a good trip.

The next day, we had talked about going to the New Orleans' zoo or the aquarium there. But it turned out that they were closed on Mondays, so that wouldn't work out real well. It was raining all day, so pretty much going outside wasn't an option, either. So we ended up going with Vickie (Dee's brother Erik (not to be confused with my brother Erick)'s wife), Jordan (our 2-year-old nephew) and Jenna (our 4-month-old niece) to Chuck E. Cheese to play games. I don't think Jenna much noticed where we were, but the other kids all had fun:

We also went over to Grandma Pat's, where we also visited with Megan, Abbey and Kate (Uncle Scott's brother Mike's wife and two younger daughters) as well as their new Dalmatian puppy, Sammy (her full name is much longer than that, but I don't remember all the details...). That was fun:
